Money into private companies and money back out, month by month, across the four quarters to Q4 2026. The window moves with the calendar: each new quarter joins and the oldest drops off. Filter by country, investor or acquirer or sector and every chart, quarter and table on the page follows. Each figure counts events, not articles about them.

Money raised vs money paid for companies
Disclosed value only. Grey months have not happened yet. Acquisitions are lumpy by nature — one large deal moves a month — while funding is the sum of hundreds of rounds. The three bars are not comparable like for like: funding and IPO proceeds are money companies took IN, acquisitions are what was paid to buy them, and each is a sum over the events that publish a figure — 94%, 13% and 19% of their events respectively. Acquisitions are roughly 400× IPO proceeds, so the amber series is a sliver here; switch to log to read all three at once.

$635.7B is the sum of the 13,849 rounds of 14,676 that publish an amount — a floor, not the window’s total. A further 434 were excluded as fund closes, debt, filing ceilings or non-companies.
$3.2T is the sum of the 1,463 deals of 7,703 that publish a price. 17 were excluded as very large figures resting on a single report.
IPOs
An IPO headline is not an IPO: the same feed carries registrations, rumours, priced listings and analyst pieces. Each is classified into one of those before it is counted, and only a listing that actually priced contributes money. 4,918 of 4,948 events are classified so far; the rest are still being processed, so these counts will grow. This section always covers the full window; the period picker above applies to funding and acquisitions.

Events, not articles. Reports about the same round or deal are chained together when they concern the same company within 45 days, and the amount used is the one most sources agree on. Before this, a single round could appear five times at five converted amounts.
Disclosed value only. Totals sum the events that publish a figure. The share that do is printed beside every total, and a cut with no figure shows a dash rather than a zero. Switching a chart to Rounds or Deals counts every event, including the ones with no published amount.
What is excluded, and why it is counted in the open. Venture fund closes filed as company rounds, debt facilities, regulatory filing ceilings from entities with no other trace, and very large figures resting on a single report are held out of every total. Their counts appear above so the exclusion can be checked rather than trusted.
Coverage is stated, not implied. Country, sector and investor are known for different shares of each set; each chart says which share it describes. A sector the data cannot resolve is absent from the sector cut but still counted in the totals.
