Meet the founders who fit what you back
A deck gets 3 minutes and 44 seconds of an investor’s attention on average, and most of those minutes go to decks that miss the firm’s focus: the wrong stage, the wrong country, the area it just stopped backing (DocSend, 200 startup fundraises). The founders who fit are buried under the ones who do not, and no firm has an honest way to say “here is what we are looking for this year” that founders will read.
Investor Match ranks every investment firm in Xcout Intel for each founder by what the firm has actually backed. State what your firm is looking for, and founders inside that focus rank you higher and read “Firm says it’s looking”. The founders who choose to share their profile appear on your own list, best fit first, with the same score and reasons the founder sees for you, the round, the country and the description. One click asks for an introduction; the founder decides.
The 90-second film: the founder’s list first, then what a firm sees, from 0:56.

The rules of engagement
- You state what you are looking for, once, in your own words. Whether you are investing now, selectively, or not taking pitches; sectors and focus areas; a thesis; what you avoid; stages, first cheque and whether you lead; founder countries; how founders should reach you. The focus counts for six months and is confirmed again after that, so no founder reads a thesis you abandoned.
- Your track record ranks you. Your focus adjusts it. A founder's list is ordered by what each firm has actually backed: deals in the founder's country, portfolio companies in the sector, deals at the stage, activity in the last year, co-investments. A stated focus moves you up the lists of founders inside it and down the lists of founders outside it. It never replaces the record, so a firm cannot climb a sector it has never backed, and there are no promoted placements.
- Founders decide who sees them. A founder's profile is private until the founder shares it, with their twenty best-ranked firms or with firms ticked one by one. The founders on your list chose you. You never see a founder who did not.
- Your views are anonymous unless you say otherwise. Opening a founder's card records a view the founder can count. Your name appears beside it only if you switched "show our name" on. Most firms leave it off; some switch it on because a named view is a signal founders answer.
- An introduction is asked for, never taken. You send a request with a line of your own. The founder accepts, which shares their email and website with your firm alone, or declines, which shares nothing. Contact details cross in that one step and in no other.
- Nothing is bought. The Investor plan opens the founders who shared with you, in full, and the request button. It does not change a score, a rank or a founder's choice. The number a founder sees for your firm is the number you see for that founder.
What you get
- A list that is already filtered. Founders in your countries, at your stages, in your sectors, who chose to share with you, ranked by the same record that ranks you for them.
- The reasons, not a score alone. Why each founder fits: your deals in their country, your portfolio in their sector, your share of deals at their stage, the co-investors you share.
- What they want beyond the cheque. A founder says whether customers, partner investors, expertise or follow-on matter most, and your firm is scored on each from its record: corporate parent, portfolio companies in their buyers’ sectors, syndicate partners on their list, board seats, exits, follow-on rate. Tick what you offer and founders read it as your claim beside that record.
- Conflicts before the call. A founder is warned when your portfolio holds their competitor or a very close company, so neither side wastes a meeting.
- Views and requests recorded for your team. Who on your side opened which card and when, which requests are open, which founders answered.
The plan
Stating a focus and seeing how many founders shared with you is open to any claimed firm. The Investor plan, $99 a month or $790 a year with a 14-day trial, opens the founders themselves and the introduction request. Plans.
Figures: 43,655 investment firm profiles, 243,120 investor-to-company deals since 2012, 582,809 co-investment pairs, read from Xcout Intel on 27 October 2026. A firm that never announces its deals is thinner in the record than one that does; claim your profile and state your focus to be read on what you say as well as on what we hold.
