Of the 766 German investors we track, 253 backed at least one startup between 1 Jan 2026 and 6 Nov 2026. Not a logo wall: every investor here is on the map because a funding round this year names it, and every startup links to that round’s source.
Film: the edition for the map of 6 November 2026 (75 s). The latest numbers are below.

The rounds German investors joined in 2026, by where the startup is based. Dollars are whole rounds, not the German investors’ share of them: a $100M round with one German investor among ten counts as $100M.
A startup’s country is where it is headquartered as far as we know it. English-language funding news is the most plentiful, so rounds outside Germany are easier for us to see than small German ones, and the German share is likely higher than shown.
Ranked by startups backed: one per investor and startup, from a round this year that names the investor. “Led” counts rounds whose reporting names it as a lead. The bar splits each investor’s startups by where they are based; the rounds shown are its largest.
213 more German investors backed at least one startup this year.

Only startups we have placed in a sector are counted; many early-stage companies are not placed yet.
Investors whose profile places their headquarters in Germany: venture firms, corporates, government funds, banks and family offices. Names are matched to one firm across spellings (HTGF and High-Tech Gründerfonds are one investor; a firm’s named sub-fund is counted under it).
Funding rounds announced since 1 January 2026, after merging articles about the same round, without debt, fund raises, investment vehicles and unverified single-source megarounds. A round we have judged to belong to a different company of the same name is dropped.
Not a count of deals and not a full portfolio: a round whose reporting names no investors is invisible here, so investors in quieter, smaller rounds are undercounted. Checked by hand on samples; corrections are welcome.
