Is hiring speeding up or slowing down?
According to Xcout Intel, new job postings at a fixed panel of 2,917 companies rose 16.7% in the four weeks to 1 November 2026 (5 October – 1 November 2026) compared with 10 August – 6 September 2026: 180,150 new roles against 154,433.
Big employers drove the change. By company size, companies with more than 10,000 staff changed +44.3% (110 companies) and companies with 1,000 to 10,000 changed −2.7% (254). The median company posted 0.96 times its earlier level, and 10.9% of the panel halved their new postings.

How we know
Xcout Intel reads the careers sites of a fixed panel of 2,917 companies every week (Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, Ashby and other applicant-tracking systems) and counts each role the first time it appears. A company is in the panel if it opened roles in at least 10 of the 12 weeks to 1 November 2026, so the change is about hiring, not about our coverage.

What this does not show
- These are new postings at a fixed panel of companies on their own careers sites — not employment, not hires. Recruitment agencies and job boards are left out.
- Not "big companies are hiring 44.3% more" in general: company size is known for 570 of the 2,917 companies, and the 10,000+ group is 110 companies.
- A role reposted under a new ID counts again; any week above three times a company's typical week is treated as a re-listing and left out.
